brief description: 

Former mining heap, overgrown with locust trees, similar woody plants and shrubs. The heap is accessible from the street via a small wooden bridge, and there is a footpath. Spots with little or no vegetation, the so-called overburden (mining spoil), is still clearly visible. Small pools and puddles of mine waste have accumulated at the foot of the spoil tip.

accessibility

car: 
coming on the A 620 highway, take the Völklingen exit and follow Karolingerstraße in the direction of the city centre. At the roundabout, turn onto Hohenzollernstraße and continue in the direction of Püttlingen. Turn right onto the L 136 and follow Heinestraße in the direction of Püttlingen. At the roundabout at the town entrance of Püttlingen, veer right and turn onto the L 269. Then turn left onto "Zur Bergehalde", then right.
train: 
the closest train station is Völklingen. From there, take the Saarbahn tram to the Riegelsberg Süd stop.
