residing in a building formerly occupied by the local health insurance administration, the youth centre on Försterstraße is among the first to have been opened more than a quarter century ago in the Saarland. Located in the heart of Saarbrücken´s hip Nauwieser Quarter, it is a very popular and much-frequented meeting place for young people between the ages of 12 and 21. The daily activities offered are manifold, ranging from billiard, tabletop football, ping-pong, and a midnight sports programme over Internet, media design, horseback riding, and cooking classes to job application assistance and counselling interviews

interior architecture:

little of the original building fabric has been preserved inside the youth centre. Most of the walls in the entrance area have been painted in different colours and were decorated with mosaics by the youths themselves. For live performances or disco nights, the centre disposes of a large hall with a stage (professional sound and light equipment available). Additional spaces include a lounge with sofa, billiard table, and table football, a weight room, and a tv room

coming from Saarbrücken on the A620 urban motorway, take the Wilhelm-Heinrich-Brücke exit. Follow Stengelstraße (direction City) and after approx. 500 m, turn left onto Großherzog-Friedrich-Straße. After another 100 m, make a right onto Dudweilerstraße and follow the course of the road for approx. 200 m, until reaching an intersection. Turn right onto Richard-Wagner-Straße and after 50 m, make another right onto Johannisstraße. After approx. 300 m, turn left onto Nassauerstraße and you will see the youth centre after approx. 150 m on your left hand side
