Reden Slag Heap Garden

pictures

description

brief description:

Slag heap filled up with anthracite grey washery refuse, measuring about 80 to 90 metres from foot to peak, with steep slopes. On top of the plateau, which has an area of about 10 hectares, there is a viewing platform with alpine huts. Wonderful view of the surroundings with settlements and the woodland area known as Saarkohlenwald. The slag heap garden is accessible by car via a 1,5 km long serpentine road (drive walking pace). A 4 km long leisure and skater trail connects the slag heap with a water garden. Ruderal shrubs are in bloom from May to June.
